Ueno is one of largest terminal station in Tokyo.
Including Tohoku Shinkansen, here is entrance of Tohoku and North Kanto area.
And here is also first subway station.
In 1927, first subway had opened between Ueno and Asakusa.
This is subway Ueno station at early Showa period (Maybe late 1920s to early 1930).

And this is 2015. Here can feel nostalgic atmosphere.

There are many entrances at Ueno Station.
Here is Asakusaguchi entrance. Here can see exterior of building.

Here is Hirokoji entrance. Here is facing large road. It has heavy traffic.

Ameyoko is also famous at Ueno.

Night at Hirokoji entrance. Heavy traffic makes light track.
Stump speech by right wings are often held here.

Opposite side. Road is twisted. It made light track as lightning!!


Of course Ueno Station is busy inside too.
But if you walk here, please look up over ticket entrance.
You’ll find peaceful art work by Genichiro Inokuma(1902-1993).
It will be oasis in busy Tokyo.
