Today’s destination is a little difficult to get to. Because there is a little far from station.
I walked from Keio Line Nagayama Station.
It was long straight road.
This photo was taken in middle way, toward Nagayama station.

This area is located in Tama area of Tokyo.
I wrote about Tama area in former article.
Lights and Green, Yuhi no Oka, Sakuragaoka Park
In 1960s, Tama New Town project had began.
In 1971 first resident had moved here.
So here is newly constructed and well planned area.
Many residence were built.

End of the straight road, turn left or right.
I turned right. But left is nearer to destination. I didn’t checked map!
Entrance will appear. It took about 15 minutes from station.

Here is Tama Hills. Small mountain.

View from observatory. Here can see New Town Area. So many residence!

Observatory is like this.

According to information, pedestrian path is prepared as “Yokoyama no michi” along ridge road of Tama Hills.
This pedestrian path can enjoy full of nature!

Tama Hills is wide mountain.
Seen from Fuchu, beautiful silhouette appears at dusk.
It was called “Yokoyama(means wide mountains)” or “mayubikiyama(means eyebrows drawing mountain)” from 7c to 8c.
On back, I found a sign describing “Sakimori mikaerino chi(means Sakimori turning around place)”.

In 633, Battle of Baekgang occurred at Korean Peninsula.
Wa(Japan in that time) and Baekje fought against Tang and Silla.
Wa and Baekje were defeated.
After battle, soldiers were drafted to defend Kyushu from mainly eastern area.
Kyushu is far. And weapons and foods are required to prepare by soldier, and taxes are remain.
So it was too difficult task. They realized possibility that they can’t return.
In Manyoshu (oldest Japanese poetry compiled 7c to 8c), there are seen poems by Sakimori about Tama Hills.
Here would have been symbol of nostalgia.
I thought We must not forget sad history.
Now this area is developed.
Panorama view.

Tallest building is Benesse Corporation. One of Japanese huge educational publisher. I studied with its textbooks.

It’s difficult to recognize from panorama photo, here can see Mt.Fuji. Sunset is coming.

Last sunlight.

After sunset. Beautiful Gradation. I love this moment!!

Gradually residence’s lights turned on. These are lights of life. So they are warm.

Street has heavy traffic. On left side of Mt.Fuji, Mt. Oyama is also seen. It’s located Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. There is my birthplace. Mt.Oyama is our pride!

Panorama view. I felt like Mt.Fuji is

Whole angle.

Close up after dark. Buildings are standing in dense. I think real way of life is artistic. It is rational. So its shape makes beautiful lines and rhythm.

Mt.Fuji at night. I couldn’t see it. But camera caught it. Sometimes I really surprised by camera’s ability.

Electric lines are standing in a row.

During shooting, I remember ANDREAS GURSKY “Paris, Montparnasse”
Here may Japanese Montparnasse!
I enjoyed beautiful scenery.
But here was so cold! And after sunset, there are almost no people. Also dark.
Though here is close to residential area(only a few minutes on foot), I felt a little anxiety that if I lose consciousness, I will not discovered till tomorrow morning.
Please put on warm wear and do not lose consciousness 🙂
