This Japanese traditional design building is located at Ginza,Chuo-Ku,Tokyo,Japan.
Among modern design building, this building is so conspicuous.
Its name is “Kabukiza”.
Do you know Japanese traditional performance art “Kabuki”?
Here is the one of famous Kabuki theater.
There is heavy traffic at Harumidori street(front road of Kabukiza). So it is hard to take photo like bellow.
This is a historical photo. My collection of old post card.
First construction of Kabukiza is at 1889.
The Constitution of the Empire of Japan(Meiji Constitution) was promulgated the same year.Very historical building.
But later, it was reconstructed some times. Because of fire in 1921, Great Kanto earthquake in 1923, WW2 Bombing of Tokyo in 1945, aging in 2010.
I tried the same angle. But maybe old photo was taken from center of the road. So I couldn’t.
I tried panorama photo.
These are close up. Too near, it was impossible to take all figure.
At night, I wanted to take beautiful light up exterior.
But even though at night, there was heavy traffic.
So I decided to take advantage of light trace of heavy traffic.
It became photos mixture of traditional and futuristic atmosphere.
These are composite of several photos.
Stopping car is a little disturbing.
This is a fish eye version.
I emphasized light trace.
If you come Ginza, please enjoy design of Kabukiza.
And if it is possible, please enjoy Kabuki performance. You’ll touch heart of Japan!
(But I have never seen…sorry!)
Right in front is a center of the road(there is a corner), so, to set tripod right in front is dangerous.
So I took night photos from a little left. And I modified distortion with photoshop.
Here has also many pedestrians, please be careful not to disturb them.
Nearest station: Higashiginza station / Tokyo Metro Hibiya line,Toei Asakusa line
